A Little Compliment Goes a long way

Have you complimented someone today?

Told someone they look strong, they’re doing a great job at work, or that you admire something about them? A little positive feedback can go a long way.

Sometimes, we don’t even realize the effect of our compliments on someone else’s life. Something as small as telling a coworker that you appreciate how gracefully she balances work with her other responsibilities may mean the world to her.

If you’re like me, you might just be your own worst critic. I’m certainly not beating myself up over every mistake I make (I used to, though!), but I’m always seeking ways to be better and often times don’t cut myself a break until I think my work is perfect. Sound familiar?

This is why I’ve learned to really enjoy compliments from others and let them sink in. It’s not about vanity – it’s about seeing in yourself what others see in you.

A compliment you give to someone might brighten their day, boost their motivation, and make them recognize something beautiful in themselves.

I’m going to challenge myself to offer someone in my life (maybe a Heartmybody girl!) one compliment every day, and I challenge you to do the same! At least one person and one compliment every day.

If you can’t think of anything, think harder. We grow the most when we are forced to dig deep and look at people or situations with a different perspective. Sharing positivity will end up making us feel happier, too!
